The Carl Sandburg College women’s basketball team had four players score in double figures and emerged with a 68-62 overtime victory in a see-saw contest at Moraine Valley on Thursday night.

The Cyclones (0-2) forced OT at 54-54 on a putback with 4 seconds left in the fourth quarter, but back-to-back 3-pointers from Allison Westerdahl (Peoria, Ill./Limestone) and Kelsi Legge (Galesburg, Ill./Galesburg) put the Chargers (2-3) ahead 62-56 in the extra period as they went on to win their second in a row.

Freshman Carley Reeves-Eakins (Branson, Mo./Reeds Spring) scored a game-high 21 for Sandburg and was one of three Chargers to post a season-high in points. Annie McKim (Yates City, Ill./homeschooled) had a career-best 13 points, and Legge’s 11 matched her career-high. Addison Eger (Mendon, Ill./Unity) added 14 points for the Chargers.

Sandburg outscored Moraine Valley 20-4 in the second quarter for a 31-19 lead at halftime, but the Cyclones came out in the third, scoring 21 of 27 in the period to regain the lead.

Chelsea Cross had 17 points to pace Moraine Valley.
